This little girl’s mother found me on the internet. She knew that she wanted an indoor background for her classical oil portrait and I asked her to send pictures of her house. She was ready to hire someone to photograph her daughter for my references. Since we had great rapport, I asked her to let me speak to the photographer myself. I was then able loosely to direct him from a distance, telling him the type of photos that would be most useful for me. This worked out very well. When I sent her pictures of the finished portrait before shipping it off to her, she replied:
“Oh – it is beautiful – from the face, dress, and totally love what you did with the background! I cannot wait to see it in person! I cannot believe the background! It is perfect! Her eyes are great too! I could not be more pleased!!” Eight hours later she sent another quick but heartwarming email: “I just can’t stop looking at it!! So wonderful! Thank you!” and then when it was shipped she let me know she received it with: “It’s so beautiful! Many thanks!!! Could not be happier! You were great to work with too!”
I hope she takes a vacation to my neck of the woods in Florida some day so that I might meet her because we had such fun creating this portrait together.
