Upcoming TV Show Features Jessica Rockwell and Her Painted Portraits

Painted portraits of twins

Beautifully painted portraits make for treasured family heirlooms.

You’ll see the unveiling of two painted portraits for a family from last September, a visit from a teenager and his mother with his portrait of 11 years ago, and an interview with the artist.

Here is a sneak preview of the new paintings with recent remarks from the owners:

“I look at the paintings every night. I have the lamps on the table turned out with soft white lighting to illuminate them.  How magical they appear!  Often late at night with just those small lamps on I find myself bringing a chair over from the kitchen to sit down in the foyer and admire them!” said the busy doctor and father last week.

The mother added: “Every time I look at them, I discover something new and special that I hadn’t seen before. It’s as if our twins might twirl and leap right off the canvas and into our arms. I know I will cherish them even more when they are grown up. These paintings will never be hidden in a closet. They will be passed down for all of our future generations to cherish.”

Then it was priceless to see the 15-year-old boy next to the perfectly painted portrait of when he was a 4-year-old munchkin. You can hear his story of what it was like growing up with this loving reminder of how much his parents wanted to share their bundle of joy.

PBS’s WEDU channel in the Tampa Bay area hosts “Arts Plus” showing four different types of artists each week. Jessica’s feature will be on Thursday, March 31st at 8pm. Tune in if you are in the neighborhood!
