Once again, the grandmother approached me for

third grandchild's oil portrait of a little boy standing on a dock

the third grandchild's oil portrait this time. You can see the two previous portraits in "Related Posts" below. We photographed this little boy in our photo studio. As often happens, I am asked to think of a background for my portraits. I took my camera out to the inland water ways around Clearwater/Belleair, Florida, and photographed docks, beaches and many different flora to inspire me and serve as reference material. From all of this I composed and painted the picture. My work was worthwhile when I got this from his mother: “I feel like he could just step right out of the picture. He is my sweet one and this really captures it. It captures him in time. So different, much more real than having a photograph. It’s awesome having portraits of all my children.” Related posts: Grandchildren Oil Portrait Tradition Started by Grandmother Beach Time Sweetness Is Second Oil Portrait for Grandmother Custom Oil Portrait of Boy by a Staircase Children Oil Portraits for Mother's Day Oil Portrait on canvas of Little Boy at Beach You can also see this third grandchild's oil portrait in the Children Oil Portraits Gallery.
