See the affinity brothers and sisters show for their portraits

This is the second in my series of videos showing several portraits that have a relation to each other. This one is about brother sister oil portraits. From the most casual to very dressy, they record the love of siblings in the grandest of style. Two of them came from photos that the parents had made themselves. They loved the photos so much that they wanted to make them into even more meaningful memories. When they crossed paths with me, both of the families poured out their delight in meeting someone who might be able to give them just what they had dreamed about. I couldn’t help but understand when I saw their photos. When I paint a portrait, I enjoy getting to know the subject as I paint. In the case of these two families, I felt as if I were getting the know the children’s parents as well. I was truly seeing them through their participation in the camera work. The other parents were mostly with us when my husband and I took the reference photos in our studio. I then chose a few of the best and went over them with the parents. They gave me their feelings about which photos represented the best likenesses of their children. Together we decided exactly what I was going to paint. As for background, more often, I make them up. However, sometimes they give me ideas that they think would be appropriate. No matter how you go about it though, the love shown in brother sister oil portraits is a wonderful inspiration for fine art of the most endearing nature. Please let me help you oil portrait your special loved one(s) to be enjoyed for a long, long time!
